About Stannous Octoate

In the manufacture of polyurethane foam, the gelation reaction between the polyol and isocyanate is catalyzed through the use of organometallic catalysts (primarily Tin compounds). For flexible slab-stock foam, Stannous Octoate is the preferred catalyst. By varying the concentration of Stannous Octoate in the formulation, a balance can be achieved between the gelation and the blowing reaction
